Yesterday was Noah's 28th birthday. When he was born, he went home from the hospital on Christmas Eve inside a stocking. I thought about buying one of those gigantor spoof stockings and making him get in it for a photo (to achieve my ambition of being featured on awkwardfamilyphotos.com), but he provided me with even better blog fodder than that.
I'm getting ahead of myself. In the afternoon yesterday, we finally closed on our home refinance. What's more, we were very pleasantly surprised to learn our new mortgage payment is even lower than we thought it would be. Low enough that it almost makes up for the fact that Noah hasn't received a cost of living raise in two years. Almost.
Yesterday evening, we drove to Charlotte to see the Bobcats play the Oklahoma Thunder. And that's when The Incident happened.
It's still too soon to talk about The Incident—and Noah still has a few scrapes and bruises, to his ego and his arms and legs—so the retelling of the tale will have to wait until the new year. If that hasn't piqued your curiosity enough, I'll also say that after The Incident and The Aftermath finally simmered down, Noah announced loudly to us and the surrounding rows of spectators—which included, directly and indirectly, about a dozen middle schoolers—"NOBODY TWEET THIS."
Talk to you all next year!
I am looking forward to more on the cliffhanger.
Merry Christmas and I hope you all enjoy your holidays.
I will look forward to the conclusion to this teaser piece in the new year.
