A lot has happened in the four or so weeks I've been working on my end-of-semester podcast and neglecting this here blog. (Confidential to podcast/Komen walk supporters: Thank you so much for your donations and your incredibly kind words.)
Nanny came home from her England/Ireland extended stay a couple weeks ago. It's most important for you to know that she got new dentures while she was over there, and the first time I saw her I felt like I was looking at teeth with a tiny head wrapped around them. I could barely talk to her without staring. Apparently when Mom was growing up, every time Nanny got new dentures she looked all teeth for a few days before everyone adjusted. I have, in fact, adjusted. Both to her new look as well as to the slight whistle that now preceeds her S's.
We adopted Bonnie. She is precious and after only two nights quit whining in her kennel at bedtime. Well actually, three nights, but night one wasn't her fault. The first night we had her was something of a fiasco because Noah stayed up until 2:30 in the morning playing Xbox, then "forgot" that the plan was to put her in a kennel for sleeping. He brought her into our room, which didn't work for obvious reasons. Then he smelled turd. At this point I was livid as I'd been soundly asleep for nearly 3 hours. I had to turn on the light for him to locate the poo—which he couldn't, so he assumed she had some nervous gas—then he promptly stepped in it when I turned the light back off. I believe that's known as comeuppance. That'll teach him to play Xbox all night and wake his sleeping princess.
It's good to be back.
Comeuppance. :) Word of the day...
I'd like to welcome Bonnie but I've ONLY SEEN ONE PHOTO of her.
Nothing like a barefoot bomb. Yikes.
