Curious. Still no explanation for the fatigue, nor for my recent fattitude. ("You've gained weight this year," said my doctor, to which I replied, "Yeah, it must be ALL THE EXERCISE AND TRIATHLONS I'VE BEEN DOING.")
What the heck, you guys?
Of course I'm happy to know that I'm not in the early stages of hormonal obesity. But I admit, I was slightly...disappointed...when the nurse called and told me that I wasn't...pregnant. I know, this is crazy talk. But my disappointment has subsided since Ethan has decided to change his sleep schedule from Easy Slumber O'Clock to Rock Me For Three Hours And Then Let's Play Some More O'Clock.
Sigh.
For now, I have a follow up appointment in three weeks, and $15 worth of supplements to begin experimenting with (Zinc for immunity and to reduce sugar cravings, Papaya Extract for digestion, and Evening Primrose Oil for better sleep, mood stability and to fight belly fat). I learned about these today on Cranky Fitness and thought, Heck, what do I have to lose? Besides a few extra pounds, that is.

Like you said: CRAZY TALK!!!
But I hope you solve the mystery of what ails ye.
The body is so incredibly complicated there is no telling what may be the problem. When you have your blood work done, (I'm not sure if they already did this) ask them to test for Ferritin levels. Just doing a red blood cell count won't tell the entire story. Having excess ferritin can lead to wonkey (yes wonkey) iron levels but normal RBC counts. A considerable amount of people have this problem and don't know it. Dr. Wiki can explain: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferritin
Anyways, as they always say "An apple a day".
yuck. i hope you find answers.
are you still training? this week i read that endurance sports (such as ours) require 10 HOURS of sleep a night.
do these doctors have children? whatever.
I'm sorry you're not feeling well and that the doctors haven't found the root of it yet. I hope they find a solution soon. Sometimes eating fresh oranges and spinach help me. I'm a firm believer in herbal supplements, too.
Make sure you're also drinking plenty of water!! I've noticed that whenever I get the yuckies and forget to up my hydration, it takes SO much longer to recover.
I hope they find the answer and it's something you'll be fine in hearing. Good luck!
Like your Doctor repost. Awesome stuff. Hope the follow up brings more clarity.
I might try some of those hippie supplements. I take green tea tablets too, or did back when I was actually losing weight.
How frustrating! Hope it's just some low-grade virus or something and your body fights it off asap. Does sound like if it doesn't go away more medical detective work might be in order. Doctors are so busy they don't often take unexplained fatigue complaints seriously, especially from women, which sucks.
Griffin has developed some CRAZY sleep patterns, too. Could it be the time change? I keep saying it is (even though it was over a week ago) because I feel like I need an answer. Whatever it is, I hate it and it must stop. Hope you start feeling better soon.

It is oddly disappointing not to be diagnosed with something, isn't it? I keep waiting to find out why I'm tired all the time - though maybe it's my diet of cheetos and coffee.
Hey, you cannot depend on doctors if you do have a thyroid problem. They just don't get how to diagnose it because they use horrible lab tests. You really need to look at the patient-to-patient website Stop the Thyroid Madness. You could be the large group of undiagnosed people like I was. It's here: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com Weight gain and fatigue are clear signs of hypothyroidism! I've been there, done that and I'm a lot better.
=( Hope you get some answers and get to feeling better soon. I wish I could offer some advice but I've been a pin-cushion for six years as to whether or not it's thyroid, my anemia, possible diabetes in the future or this or that... ugh!!! (I didn't know that about Zinc killing the sugar need-bees. Going to have to try that cause I want sugar ALL THE TIME!)
